Biomedical Research Scientist - Health and Wellbeing

Summary:

The Meta Health and Wellbeing team is seeking a biomedical research scientist who will report to the Manager of Health and Wellbeing Research and work alongside other members of the Health and Wellbeing team, aimed at improving health outcomes throughout the world. In this role, as a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will plan and execute research on novel digital approaches to measuring and improving health and wellness, with a focus on high-quality health data collection.

Required Skills:

Biomedical Research Scientist - Health and Wellbeing Responsibilities:

Work with biomedical sensors and systems to collect and analyze physiological data (specifically, time series multimodal data) for characterizing health and wellness applications

Develop and implement signal processing, data analysis, and data visualization using keen understanding of physiology, physical systems and statistics

Develop methods and standard operating procedures involving lab instrumentation and proto@type bring up for data collection in order to test features, algorithms or models

Design and execute studies with engineering test protocol and report to validate algorithms for biomedical applications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Master's or PhD in biomedical engineering or equivalent, with relevant coursework and experience in signal processing, sensor development, and experimentation

Master's degree with 8+ years of experience or PhD with 5+ years of experience

Experience programming in Python, developing well-documented code and familiarity with software development requirements

In-depth subject matter knowledge of digital health research projects

Experience working in interdisciplinary research and/or product development teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of human physiology and prior research experience in the field of health is highly desired

Direct industrial experience in consumer/digital health and wellbeing product development and/or research, with demonstration of success working within and across multi-disciplinary teams (for example, project or product managers, software engineers, research scientists, machine learning data scientists)

Experience in PyTorch, Numpy and Pandas

Experience in developing specialized software tools for biomedical measurement data

Familiar with data pipeline and data investigations

Public Compensation:

$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
