Contributing to Our Mission:
As a member of our team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining safe mobility for every traveler in our state by providing upbeat, quality and professional customer service and meet customer needs in all program areas of the office. This is done by reviewing applications, requesting personal information from motor vehicle records and maintain records of current Driver's Privacy Protection Act agreements.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Your Responsibilities:
Answer telephone inquiries from the general public and government agencies inquiring into their driving or registration privileges. These calls must be correctly handled in a timely and professional manner explaining Iowa law, procedures and the steps needed to reinstate their driving privileges.
Review and process information from various sources such as the court, county attorneys, police officers, and insurance companies to maintain driving records as required by Iowa Code and Federal Laws and Regulations.
Assist customers with scheduling appointments to visit our service center.

Special Requirements:
This position is a covered position under the REAL ID Act of 2005, 49 U.S.C. § 30301 note, as further defined in 6 CFR Part 37.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work.
A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 2 or eighteen months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
