Summary This position is located in the Bowling Center of the Morale, Welfare Department at Naval Air Station Lemoore. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the various functions in the facility to ensure that established policies and procedures are followed and adhered to. Responsibilities Operates a Point of Sale (POS) system to document sales. Must obtain CARE training, Food Service Training and Customer Service Training within 90 days of employment. Performs first level supervisory duties which include recommending hiring and disciplinary actions, training, job assignments, etc. Provides work direction to subordinates to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained in the facility. Reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during assigned shift. Monitors operations to ensure Bowling programs and Bowling snack bar operations run smoothly taking corrective action as necessary. Works with staff to ensure that all planned events take place as scheduled. Ensures standard operating procedures are adhered to. Communicates any issues to supervisor. Ensures established closing procedures are followed to secure the building after shifts. This position is subject to working irregular working hours including early shift, late shift, evenings, weekends and holidays as well as rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours. Performs other related or incidental duties as assigned. May assist with special events as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications A minimum of one (1) year experience which provides knowledge of club, restaurant, business operations, or equivalent leadership experience. Experience is required in an office environment with progressive responsibilities or related education. Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulations, policies, principles, and procedures. Must have ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to provide work direction to other employees. Must have ability to use initiative, discretion, and independent judgment in making decisions. Must be people-orientated and have an excellent sense of customer relations. Must possess a courteous, tactful and diplomatic demeanor. Skill in computer data entry is desired and must have knowledge of software applications such as but not limited to Word and Excel. Additionally, the incumbent will be automatically disqualified if he/she has been held to be negligent in a civil adjudication or administrative proceeding concerning the death of or serious injury to a child or dependent person entrusted to the individual's care.
