Pay Range: $29.36 - $47.79 per hour

Summary:
The Manager, Environmental Services is responsible for the effective leadership of Environmental Services activities based on assigned hospital entity including but is not limited to the successful management of client/customer relations, patient and customer satisfaction, program quality standards, performance improvement, and personnel performance and productivity. The Manager is responsible over the operations of a buildings functionality, ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and ensures quality standards are consistently achieved. Serves as a strategic planning partner to the Director, and on cross-departmental workgroups involving tactical executions in daily management system improvements. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related discipline OR
Five (5) years professional operations management experience
Two (2) years' experience team/personnel oversight
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
Competencies:
Leadership and management skills necessary to plan, organize, direct and control the activities of associates. Service/quality mentality and attitude.
Familiarity with TJC, OSHA, CMS, inspections, and with chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions.
Exhibits excellent verbal, written, listening, organizational, time management, and presentation skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Analytical ability to interpret financial and statistical data and to distinguish trends and other factors that impact operational activity.
General business acumen.
Mental ability to provide excellent judgment for problem solving related to the performance of associates' coordination of activities related to Patient Transportation Services; enforcement of policies and emergency or stressful situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; guest relations skills must be strong, genuine and noticeable. Physical ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing or sitting.
Effective verbal, listening, presentation and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills utilizing a Windows-based Operating System: ability to troubleshoot system problems related to computer or software systems and initiate internal or external resolution to system issues.

Responsibilities:
Oversees and promotes associates' compliance to standard universal and disease-specific precautions and the OSHA blood borne pathogen standard; works to comply with all federal and state regulatory agencies.
Collaborates with Director, EVS on process and performance improvement matters.
Continuously work to develop and execute strategic planning for assigned entity of scope and collaborates with fellow EVS Managers to identify opportunity for cross-area implementations.
Collaborates with Project Manager to monitor, track and analysis relevant trends influencing performance metrics.
Oversees talent acquisition, workforce planning, and talent management activities, including: analyzes and justifies workload trends and staffing levels as well as interviews, selects, orients, trains, develops, and terminates.
Coordinate administrative responsibilities in the program, including oversight of the department support staff's
Monitors and purchases supplies and equipment when necessary; oversee vendor relations within assigned entity of oversight.
Drives quality and continuously improves departmental performance through effective problem identification, analysis and resolution; innovative ideas, timely decision-making, and task completion.
Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations and ensures compliance.
Evaluates the performance of subordinates providing direction and meaningful goals on a consistent basis; recognizes positive employee performance; administers the disciplinary action process; maintains accurate manager's counseling notes.
Interacts daily with nursing and other support departments.
Administers departmental training and orientation programs; conducts regular manager meetings with subordinates.
Assist in maintaining a high level of efficiency and productivity in providing all housekeeping, linen, and inventory performs a variety of housekeeping and floor care inspections & tasks.
Ensures an effective and cohesive working relationship with department employees, Department Heads, all hospital staff, and the public.
Ensures, for all customers, regulatory compliance regarding safety, sanitation for patients, guests, and employees.
Ensures that public areas are appropriately sanitized to project a strong positive image.
Communicates pertinent policy & procedure information to ensure compliance to infection control and sanitation standards.
Assists with tracking and monitoring of departmental budgets, project budgets, and department expenditures.
