Responsibilities Receives and reviews all Agency Claims for Reimbursement of Miscellaneous Expenses for accounting accuracy, eligibility, and proper documentation. Establishes and maintains electronic control logs of all Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) obligations that have been received or recorded in the DAI system. Records obligations into the DAI accounting system as they are received to ensure the most current obligation information is contained in monthly accounting reports. Maintains contact and coordination with DFAS to resolve DAI obligation problems and recommends corrections or improvements. Receives and reviews invoices for proper documentation, accounting classification and obligation in the DAI accounting system. Certifies documents for payment. Receives, reviews and processes copies of paid vouchers to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), showing Transactions by Others (TBO) following the same review and certification process used for invoices. Errors in disbursement vouchers, TBOs or DFAS transmittals are promptly corrected through coordination with Budget & Accounting Analyst and DFAS. Reviews reports from DAI, maintaining current report files for analytical review. Establishes and maintains obligations, accounts payable, and undelivered orders accounting files. Analyzes data relating to annual and quarterly telephone and internet budget estimates. Provides record management that involves establishing, controlling, and disposing of financial management records, in accordance with record disposal guidance. Consolidates or maintains requested data for budget projections/submissions. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes: Processing disbursements and maintaining, balancing, and closing accounts in accounting systems. Assembling, reviewing, and maintaining complex accounting, budget, and other fiscal transactions. Analyzing numerous accounts and determining the need for, and @type of adjustments necessary to reconcile and balance accounts.
