Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist (PT) to improve mobility, strength, and balance
Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as gait training, therapeutic exercises, and functional mobility training
Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and techniques for continued progress at home
Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and facility guidelines
Stay current with best practices and continuing education to enhance clinical skills
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Requirements:
Valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapy, or outpatient physical therapy is preferred
Strong understanding of therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and post-acute rehabilitation
