Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Manager, External Innovation will support the Innovative Medicine Business Development (IM BD) team and provide the leadership role in the financial evaluation of BD deals including:
Support external business development opportunities, understand and challenge the business case as well as ensuring transparency in the valuation assessments
Developing financial analyses/valuations for licensing deals by liaising with various stakeholders to prepare a financial valuation model (discounted cash flow, (e)NPV and (e)IRR
Developing and negotiating deal terms that mitigate risks and ensure value creation for J&J
Assessing financial viability of the licensing deals supported
Summarizing and presenting deals to Senior Management and Innovative Medicine Operating Committee.
He/she must ensure compliance and adherence to Corporate Accounting Procedures and Approval Guidelines.
Additional responsibilities include working with other Finance expert stakeholders on deals (tax, treasury, supply chain, R&D) and assisting with M&A transactions lead by Corporate M&A.
The Senior Finance Manager will be required to have excellent analytical skills which is necessary to develop valuation models and perform complex financial scenario analyses.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, with the ability to present complex financial analyses in a fully transparent way to support informed and value creating decision making.
Strong interdependent partnering and networking skills, both internally (within finance and across the business) and externally (with external parties) are required.
Candidate must demonstrate ability to excel in high stress environments and manage multiple ongoing priorities.
He/she will be required to work independently and demonstrate the ability to serve as a financial and business advisor.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with a major in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or Accounting
An additional degree or advanced certifications such as a Master's/MBA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA or another equivalent is preferred.
Strong experience in Financial Modeling using advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions) is required.
A minimum of 7 years of experience with finance or accounting is required.
Prior experience working in a Finance role supporting a Pharmaceutical or medical devices, Commercial or Research organization in healthcare industry, is highly preferred
Prior supervisory/management experience preferred
Demonstrated track record of independently managing project timelines and deliverables is required.
Ability to be flexible with time of working hours required, given nature of the work, is very crucial for this role and is required.
Strong communications, framing presentation skills, along with solid interpersonal, negotiating and ability to influence senior business leaders is required.
This position will be located in Titusville, NJ and may require up to 10% of travel (domestic & international).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$120,000-$207,000
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
