Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to support our tax provision processes and compliance efforts. This role involves preparing book-tax difference supporting work papers, assisting with U.S. Federal income tax returns, and participating in U.S. State income tax compliance processes. The Accountant will also be responsible for handling various tax-related examinations and notice responses, preparing foreign bank account reports, and performing account reconciliations. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to our growth as we bring work back onsite.

Responsibilities

Support in preparing book-tax difference supporting work papers for the quarterly and annual tax provision.

Participate in assisting outside teams with the preparation of the U.S. Federal income tax return, including completing applicable Federal income tax return forms, statements, and elections.

Prepare and analyze Federal book-tax difference calculations, reconciling book and tax basis balances to the inventory of deferred taxes.

Assist in each U.S. State income tax compliance process by helping outside teams prepare complete State income tax returns and related work papers.

Gather and prepare State apportionment data in compliance with State apportionment rules for all State returns.

Assist with Federal, State, and local income tax examinations and notice responses by gathering relevant documentation and preparing communications for taxing authorities electronically.

Prepare foreign bank account reporting.

Perform account reconciliations for all income tax balance sheet accounts.

Assist with the preparation of Alteryx workflows to automate certain income tax processes.

Prepare monthly income tax cash tax reconciliation and summary for management review.

Assist with Federal, State, and local income and franchise tax cash payment calculations by preparing calculation work papers, supporting wire sheet approvals, and documenting payments made.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Minimum two years of experience in income tax.

Minimum two years of domestic tax compliance experience.

Minimum two years of experience using MS Excel on the job.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience using OneSource and/or QuickBooks (or ERP).

Prefer corporate tax background over public tax background , but either is acceptable.

International Tax compliance experience.

Experience with CCH or TTR tax research.

Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and organization skills with critical attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Attention to detail.

Ability and willingness to take initiative and go above and beyond to get the job done.

Comfortable working under deadlines and strict compliance deadlines.

Work Environment

The work environment is hybrid, with two days a week in the office preferred for local candidates. The hours are 8-5 PM CST, with busy seasons at quarter end and year-end.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
