Description
We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in Yreka, California. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating manufacturing costs, establishing cost standards, and delivering actionable insights to support financial planning and operational strategies. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in cost accounting within manufacturing or high-tech industries, particularly in standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain standard cost systems for manufacturing products and processes.
Evaluate cost variances, including material, labor, and overhead, and recommend strategies to enhance financial and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate allocation of product costs.
Conduct inventory valuation, reconcile inventory accounts with the general ledger, and oversee cycle counts and audits.
Prepare detailed monthly reports on costs, gross margins, and key performance metrics.
Provide cost-related data to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Monitor changes in Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and process efficiencies that could impact cost structures.
Assist in setting and adjusting standard costs annually based on operational updates.
Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
Solid knowledge of standard costing methodologies and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms, along with advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with semiconductor production workflows and activity-based costing models is preferred.
