Key job responsibilities
Lead strategic initiatives related to network capacity within Amazon's various business units.
Concentrate on optimizing and managing the flow of goods, information, or services within the supply chain network.
Balance supply and demand, assess and improve the efficiency of distribution networks, warehouses, or logistics operations.
Analyze and synthesize data to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency in network capacity.
Define metrics, develop program management mechanisms, and invent/simplify processes to drive decision-making in complex network capacity situations.
Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions, influencing and facilitating agreements to achieve shared network capacity goals.
Manage cross-functional network capacity initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to lean philosophy at scale.
Own a portfolio of cross-functional programs related to network capacity, driving performance improvement and efficiency in project delivery.
Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities in network capacity, focusing on inventory management, logistics strategy, and transportation optimization.
Monitor and optimize key network capacity metrics to ensure the smooth flow of goods or services through the supply chain network.
A day in the life
This role is the single threaded leader for North America AMXL Middle Mile Quarterly Guidance volume plans. This leader partners with Finance, Supply Chain execution, Long Term Planning, Engineering, Network Design, Execution, and data science teams. This role will deliver AMXL's Middle Mile long range (Quarterly Guidance through end of year) full year plan, ensuring integration with short and long term configurations and strategies, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining plan over plan key metric bridges.
About the team
The NA Supply Chain team is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain for AMXL, including inventory planning/placement, fulfillment, middle-mile, last-mile, delivery to the customer, and the reverse logistics associated with customer and vendor returns. Our mission is to set the benchmark for a world-class heavy/bulky supply chain in customer experience, speed, sustainability, and cost.
Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is a single-threaded organization with ownership of the end-to-end (E2E) customer experience for large, heavy, and bulky products. AMXL consolidates E2E supply chain: strategy, data analytics, tech, operations, warehousing, order fulfillment, transportation, and delivery. AMXL also offers special handling services such as Room of Choice delivery, Haul-Away, and Installation/Assembly for select items. AMXL currently operates in NA, EU, JP, and IN, with plans for further expansion.
This role will have a unique opportunity to innovate across end to end (E2E) Supply Chain processes with an emphasis on the middle mile strategy through the end of the year. Success in this role will have a direct and positive impact on internal & external customers by further optimizing the mile between warehouse and customer doorstep. This role will influence improvements in Amazon's Extra Large product speed, customer experience, and cost to serve. AMXL's Science, Supply Chain, and Engineering (SSE) team is looking for an experienced supply chain manager with a strong record of achieving results in the middle and last mile transportation field to develop and lead the organization's long range (current quarter to end of year) planning cycles.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Finance or related fields
5+ years of forecasting, designing or modeling supply chain
3+ years of corporate program management experience
Stakeholder management, influencing and presenting to senior leadership
MS Excel: Intermediate. V-lookups and Pivot Tables at minimum.
SQL/Programming Language: Basic - utilize to extract, manipulate and analyze data.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree, or MBA
3+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience
3+ years of driving process improvements experience
3+ years of leading large complex programs experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
