Equinox is Albany County's primary provider of services for victims of domestic violence. Our Domestic Violence Programs provide safety for victims of Domestic Violence, including the elderly, and offer the support, assistance and tools they need to escape abusive situations and take control of their lives. Domestic Violence Services are available to all victims and their dependent children, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
Position Summary:The STRIVE Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing IPV evidence- based strategies. Responsible to coordinate and facilitate a Coordinated Community Response for the STRIVE Project. Responsible for all data, assessments, evaluation and required reporting. Serves as a liaison between STRIVE Executive Team, STRIVE Stakeholders and Division of Criminal Justice Services. Regularly holds and facilitates Executive Board Meetings and CCR meetings. Responsible for training, technical assistance and professional development for STRIVE project partners. Responsible for development of policies, procedures and protocols for intakes, referrals, and case management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads and Sustains a Coordinated Community Response (CCR)
Facilitates and Participates in Coordinated Community Response Meetings
Convenes and engages stakeholders, including law enforcement, probation, district attorneys, community organizations to ensure a unified, survivor-centered approach
Oversee the development and ongoing refinement of a comprehensive framework to map resources, identify service gaps, and align stakeholder roles, using tools like the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM)
Implements Evidence Based Strategies- coordinates the adaptation of evidence-based approaches such as the Danger Assessment -Law Enforcement (DA-LE), and tailors to the community's needs and remain trauma-informed and culturally responsive
Facilities ongoing assessments of system and community needs, resource capacity and stakeholder readiness, regularly evaluate program outcomes, identify barriers and refine strategies based on feedback and data
The STRIVE Coordinator adheres to strict confidentiality and federal protections surrounding victims of domestic violence.
Maintain client records according to the program and regulatory requirements. Maintain statistical requirements for the agency, STRIVE project partners, and funders. Complies with all documentation requirements
Participate in department staff meetings, STRIVE meetings, Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) required meetings and trainings
Participate in STRIVE team meetings as well as individual supervision.
Serves as the STRIVE liaison between STRIVE Executive team, STRIVE stakeholders and DCJS
Fosters Collaboration and Communication
Leads and Sustains a Coordinated Community Response (CCR)
Facilitates and Participates in Coordinated Community Response Meetings and Strive Executive Board Meetings, Responsible for taking CCR and Board Meeting Minutes
Regularly Attends Domestic Violence Regional Council Meetings, and other Domestic Violence related meetings, May represent Equinox at formal and informal meetings
Identifies and Addresses training requests, requirements and training needs of STRIVE team, CCR stakeholders and continuous promotion of professional development in evidence-based practices and domestic violence best practices
Coordinates technical assistance and ensure alignment with STRIVE objectives
Responsible for overseeing the implementation of protocols and policies for intake, referrals and case management for the STRIVE Initiative
Ensure timely and accurate submission of documentation, including meeting minutes, quarterly Implementation Assessment Tool (IAT) reports and program evaluations
The Strive Coordinator is responsible for providing in-service training to new officers, new strive project partners and new DV staff
Develops and maintains positive working relationships and linkages with other community services, including domestic violence programs, human services and resource programs in the region.
Acts in accordance with Equinox mission. Maintain the highest level of professional ethical standards. Ensures confidentiality when dealing with employees, clients, STRIVE partners and the public.
Reports suspected cases of child abuse/maltreatment as a mandated reporter.
Performs other duties as requested for the enhancement and continuation of programming.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Ability to negotiate stairs.
Ability to lift and carry minimum of 15 lbs.
Ability to drive agency vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications:
A degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or a closely related filed, plus at least three years of professional experience; Experience can be substituted for college degree.
Must have a clean, valid NYS Driver License
Project coordination/management, meeting facilitation and/or supervisory experience
Proficient in standard software tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, human trafficking, mental health or substance abuse populations preferred
Strong Understanding of Trauma-Informed, Survivor-centered approaches and evidenced based IPV Initiatives
Prior case management/crisis intervention services experience preferred
Prior experience working with law enforcement or within a police department setting is preferred
Effective Communicator with ability to foster collaboration and maintain productive relationships across multiple disciplines and sectors.
