Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join a close-knit team at a family-owned distribution company. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial records. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, while also being able to take initiative and work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Bank Reconciliation:

Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Monitor and track cash flows to support daily operations and reporting needs.

General Ledger Maintenance:

Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper accounts are balanced and accurately reflect business activities.

Perform journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accounts align with accounting standards.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Statements Preparation:

Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Analyze financial statements to identify trends and provide insights to help guide business decisions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a small-to-medium-sized organization.

Strong proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.

Proven experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.

Exceptional accuracy, organization, and time management skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with non-financial team members and leadership.

Preferred Characteristics:

Familiarity with operations in distribution/logistics companies.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to a family-run business environment, balancing professionalism with interpersonal warmth.

Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement.
