JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Manager will oversee certain accounting functions to ensure efficiency and compliance. This includes supervising employees, cash management, maintaining financial records and assisting with audits.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

Perform and drive monthly / quarterly / annual close activities, including manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical reviews, producing internal management reporting and external audit support.

Lead the annual audit process, working closely with our audit provider, to drive a timely and successful outcome.

Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable function

Treasury management and cash forecasting procedures

Work with tax preparers, financial institutions, and other external parties as needed.

Identify potential inefficiencies in existing processes and propose improvements.

Participate in building scalable accounting processes to support growth.

Execute efficient internal control documentation and sign-off procedures.

Enhance and maintain existing accounting policy and procedural documentation.

Drive end to end improvement of input processes to enable scale and productivity.

Develop, manage, and improve process metrics utilizing automation, lean practices and process optimization to scale.

Perform regulatory and other management duties such as insurance claims, sales tax filings, and credit card spend review

Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong fluency in U.S. GAAP, preferably via a background in audit or consulting with a public accounting firm.

Demonstrated success in managing various @types of challenging projects and growing team members in a fast-paced environment.

A business mindset that sees Accounting as a way to drive business optimization and results.

Experience with internal controls (design, implementation, and execution).

Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices.

Ability to understand, evaluate, and develop end to end processes.

Experience with QuickBooks a plus.

Knowledge of (or experience in) the HVAC or home services industry a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a positive and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment with moderate noise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Physical ability to sit for long periods of time, walk, stand, squat, twist, climb stairs, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer/telephone/keyboard, and be able to lift 25 lb. file boxes. Vision ability required by this job includes close vision due to computer work. Mental alertness, stamina and ability to focus on, retain and communicate numerous, detailed inputs, process high volumes of written work, data capture and reporting, factual analysis, summary presentation and making numerous on-the-fly critical judgements in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. The employee must be sober and alert and may not be on the job and be mentally or physically impaired, due to drug or alcohol used of any kind.

OTHER MATTERS:

No travel is expected for this position.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Strong management and knowledge of accounting software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
