Job Description:
At Regions, Commercial Leveraged Credit Products is responsible for partnering with the coverage team and risk management to lead the credit process for leveraged transactions throughout the Commercial Bank. Commercial Leveraged Credit Products is a client-facing team and responsible for leading all aspects of the credit process (origination and structuring through underwriting and closing) as well as ongoing portfolio management activities for commercial leveraged credits. The Commercial Leveraged Credit Products Team Leader has significant capital structure knowledge, strong underwriting skills, legal and documentation expertise and an ability to build strong relationships with internal (Banker and Risk Management) and external (C-level Management, Private Equity Sponsors, etc.) constituents.
Primary Responsibilities
Assumes overall responsibility for all origination, underwriting and portfolio management functions within the team, maintaining ownership over underwriting standards and proper execution of the leveraged credit process
Ensures compliance with the commercial loan policy and the credit risk management policy across the portfolio
Maintains strong culture of timeliness and accuracy
Supports, communicates and leads new risk management and credit process initiatives
Responsible for recruiting, retaining and developing associates
Provides coaching and training for individuals around client selectivity, loan structuring, underwriting, servicing and risk rating
Ensures adequate staffing levels including active recruiting efforts to maintain a healthy pipeline of talent at all levels
Creates and maintains strong partnership with key stakeholders including credit officers, commercial banking leaders, relationship managers, and human resources
Executes on the Bank's commercial loan origination strategy by proactively partnering with commercial banking leaders and relationship managers to identify growth opportunities with existing and prospective clients
Serves as the segment point of contact for credit risk review, problem asset management, and internal and external auditors
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Ten (10) years of commercial/corporate banking experience
Two (2) years of coaching, leadership, and/or management experience
Completion of a major corporate credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)
Significant accounting, finance and capital markets knowledge and commercial banking experience
Preferences
Leveraged finance, M&A, or Private Equity Sponsor finance experience
Master's in Business Administration (MBA)
Skills and Competencies
Ability to build a cohesive team that incorporates core values and creates a motivational environment that achieves business and credit risk goals
Demonstrated self-starter with strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, multi-tasking skills, time management skills, and ability to lead and coach

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
