POSITION SUMMARY
The Personnel & Finance Coordinator supports the Department's day-to-day administrative operations and processes to ensure smooth workflow for payroll, financial records, and personnel onboarding and offboarding.

QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS:
Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status.
WORK EXPERIENCE : The application must clearly show One (1) year of full time experience in human resources or accounting. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
EDUCATION/TRAINING : The application must clearly show a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
EQUIVALENCY : Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted for work on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above) . The Total Qualifying Requirement is five (5) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training.)

POSITION DUTIES
Supports the administration of the department, particularly in the areas of financial records and systems, personnel matters, and other duties as assigned.
Performs personnel matters for the department, including but not limited to, processing payroll, accounting for overtime, preparing and maintaining the employee hiring and disciplinary records, and scheduling meetings related to personnel matters.
Purchases Department equipment, supplies, and services, including establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, drafting invoices, and recording payments in accordance with established City and Departmental policies and procedures.
Organizes, maintains, and reconciles journals, ledgers and various other financial records, both manually and by computer.
Leads Human Resources processes by coordinating the necessary paperwork, required forms, and reports for onboarding, off-boarding , and other related functions.
Collaborates closely with other departments, including the Office of Management and Budget, Human Resources, and the Controller's office to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Works closely with the training and development team to onboard or off-board employees for the Department, which may include scheduling or conducting new employee inter-departmental check ins or exit interviews.
May assist in the preparation of the Department's budget and contracts, grant applications, legislation, and other correspondence etc.;
Performs activities and functions of related personnel and other related tasks/duties as assigned or required.
