The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Police Executive Administrative Assistant in the Police Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status**
Under limited supervision, performs a broad range of difficult, responsible, sensitive, and confidential administrative and higher-level support functions for the Chief of Police and Deputy Chief(s) of Police; performs supervisory functions, participates in technical work; and performs related duties as assigned.
**Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months.
Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on a separate list, which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees, the separate list may be utilized.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree with a major from an accredited college or university in Business Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration
Five (5) years of progressively responsible or directly related administrative experience
Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
Sufficient keyboarding skills of 45 net words per minute
Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon work location, assignment, or shift
Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment
