We are seeking a Sr. Market Development Manager to lead our digital PCR and qPCR ecosystem & channel global market development, driving marketing efforts and expanding market presence. This position is site based in Carlsbad or South San Francisco.
A Day in the Life
Develop strategic, multi-channel coordinated marketing plans for digital PCR and qPCR, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, and staging and pacing of marketing tactical programs
Lead the creation of messaging and content for dPCR and qPCR workflows in academic, translational, clinical, biotech, and pharma research
Find, cultivate and maintain customer advocates and identify collaboration opportunities to drive application content development; leverage partners to champion our solutions
Develop and implement engaging strategies to drive measurable outcomes for new and/or existing products
Develop strategy and build programs to expand our qPCR consumables presence and growth through channel partners (e.g. Fisher Scientific, local distributors)
Collaborate and ensure alignment of marketing plans among Product Management, Regional Market Development Partners, Channel Partners, Commercial Leaders, and other partners
Work with both internal and external partners to produce creative content for different marketing channels.
Maintain campaign metrics dashboards to measure the efficiency of marketing activities
Maintain knowledge of the trends and competitive academic, translational, and clinical research, biotech/pharma research, or other assigned markets
Partner with Product Management, Regional Marketing Managers, and Channel Managers to develop and deliver sales training and support materials
Manage marketing budgets and optimize the promotional mix to yield a high return on investment
Interact with varying levels of internal and external personnel including direct customer communication, KOL engagement and management, and public presentation
Keys to Success
Education
Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or other life science is preferred.
A degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications or Business, with previous work experience in biotechnology, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industry is also acceptable.
Ph.D. or equivalent experience, MS and/or MBA are desirable.
Experience
5-7+ years of proven hands-on experience in marketing roles of growing scope and responsibility in the genomics, molecular biology, or molecular diagnostic arenas
Digital PCR marketing, technical, and/or commercial experience is highly preferred.
Experienced in developing and delivering presentations and trainings for diverse audiences, including sales teams and customers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-starter with a proven track record in global, matrix environments, managing expectations of multiple partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentations to senior leadership and large audiences.
Skilled in running global marketing projects with strong attention to detail.
Adept at building and maintaining relationships with customers and key opinion leaders.
Strong creative intuition on design and messaging, with the ability to learn and improve from past campaigns.
Capable of managing project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure timely completion.
Willing to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $141,800.00-$200,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
