We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name. Work Shift:Job Description:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for housekeeping, general cleaning, maintenance and coordinating the physical integrity of the property, and assisting the Manager with maintenance of Gorbel, Inc. properties. This includes maintain a safe and sanitary environment for employees and guests. The Maintenance Technician assists with all aspects of the property's maintenance including the physical grounds, custodial, HVAC, supplies, light carpentry, plumbing, painting, and preventative maintenance.RESPONSIBILITIES:Furniture setup and movingCleaning/Janitorial - Vacuuming, shower/toilet cleaning, mopping, dusting, bathroom/restroom and break room cleaningStoring and replenishing suppliesPerform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operating conditions of equipmentFamiliarity with all facilities and building layoutsPlumbing - drain cleaning, flush valve maintenanceElectrical - basic wiring, changing ballasts and /or light bulbs, replace outletsLandscaping/grounds maintenance - operation and maintenance of mowing and trimming equipmentTrimming and raking - prune trees and shrubs, maintenance of landscape beds and mulchingSnow plowing, shovel, and salt as needed (Geographical)Provides back up to the Manager including access control system administration, energy management system adjustments, day to day work of departmentTrains other maintenance personnel (Geographical)Works with Manager on coordinating vendors, suppliers, and renovation projectsPerforming errands such as mail pick up and drop offDiagnosing Manufacturing machines and analyze the root cause of breakdownRepair or replace broken or malfunctioning parts, and test that machines operate before putting them back into serviceKeep stock on hand of spare partsInventory supply and maintain inventory logsOther duties as assigned by ManagerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least 2 years of experience in Facilities & Manufacturing maintenanceValid Driver's LicenseExperience with power toolsAbility to communicate in EnglishAbility to drive to work sites and maintain a clean driving recordAbility to work independently and as a teamAbility to be on call and work weekends (If needed)Mechanical aptitude: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.Experience with Lock out/Tag out proceduresProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsWritten communication skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace RequirementsAble to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsAble to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as requiredAble to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shiftAble to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levelsGorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other character
