Work Schedule: 8 Hr (4:00 AM - 11:30 PM)

Pay Range: $32.00 - $52.08 per hour

Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Sciences

0-2years experience in a Hospital Laboratory

Preferred Job Qualifications:

MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certificate

Physical Demands:

Able to work in past pace, often stressful, computerized environment. Able to

lift 15 lbs. and perform repetitive motions. Works in laboratory with exposure to potentially infectious materials.

Competencies:

Knowledge of Medical Laboratory Sciences in order to perform testing in any of Laboratory areas competently.

Responsibilities:

Performs complex laboratory testing with minimal assistance.

Performs required QC procedures and preventive maintenance, including corrective action and documentation, for all procedures and instrumentation. Recognizes QC problems or discrepancies and determines cause of problem. Notifies Senior Tech and/or Supervisor according to established procedure.

Performs advanced troubleshooting of equipment and processes with minimal assistance, documents action and notifies appropriate personnel of problems all of the time.

Recognizes and takes appropriate action with critical values all of the time. Reports accurate results. Correlates intra-laboratory results with each other and other clinical information.

Meets turnaround time expectations by prioritizing and organizing daily workloads.

Utilizes time effectively. Completes work without incurring overtime and assists fellow workers finish daily tasks.

Accepts no inappropriate specimens annually. Notifies appropriate person of specimens that must be drawn or collected again. Labels and processes specimens properly.

Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and well stocked at all times.
