Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Purpose
The Manager, Social Marketing NBC Entertainment will be the steward for assigned titles and special events across social and digital platforms. This person will plan and implement each title's multiplatform strategy by working in partnership with stakeholders across the company to bring that vision to life. The role is empowered to take big swings while overseeing the associated talent and digital activations, developing engaging content and designing social experiences that drive viewership for some of NBC's most exciting new titles as well as fan-favorite series.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategically develop the social strategy for each title throughout its lifecycle, from pre-premiere, launch, in-season, and hiatus phases.
Develop disruptive, buzzy tentpole activations.
Innovate new and creative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories and interact with the audience.
Apply data to guide decision-making, editorial decisions, and audience habits, as well as inform key stakeholders.
Collaborate with talent and their representatives, producers and writers, NBC Publicity and other stakeholders.
Commission video and designed collateral with internal and external teams.
Partner with the Media department to execute advertising campaigns.
Deep understanding of the multiplatform landscape, digital trends, and the evolving functionality and behaviors on social platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in social or digital media, specializing in creating entertainment-based content and experiences.
Bachelor's degree
Passion for social media, online communities, digital content, and television/film.
Keen understanding of digital content formats with an awareness of pop culture and social media trends.
Expert written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities to articulate strategies and creative concepts to senior team members.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively and proactively with diverse stakeholders, including creative teams, production staff, technology experts, and sales executives.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain high-quality standards; self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
