Job Description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our warehouse and procurement team. As a Warehouse Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the procurement of goods and materials, managing inventory, and ensuring seamless warehouse operations. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining efficiency and organization within the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate procurement of goods and materials.

Manage and control inventory levels.

Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS), specifically Oracle EMM.

Perform computer data entry and respond to emails.

Engage in production activities.

Pick, load, and unload shipments.

Maintain cleanliness and conduct general maintenance.

Dispose of trash and debris through sweeping and shoveling.

Complete tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in forklift operation.

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.

At least 1 year of experience in an outdoor environment.

General construction knowledge.

Computer data entry proficiency.

Inventory management skills.

RF scanner operation.

Order pulling and picking capabilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment, applicable from any industry such as manufacturing or food production.

Preferred, but not required: 1 year of lead or manager experience.

Work Environment

This role is based within a steel, metal, and auto recycling company with a rich history spanning over a century. Located in Oakland, the site features both indoor production areas and a spacious outdoor yard. Expect to work amidst heavy machinery, moving parts, loud noises, and dusty conditions. Dress code includes steel toe shoes, pants, a plain t-shirt or sweater, and a vest provided by the company. The position is for the morning shift, with mandatory overtime on Saturdays, currently averaging two Saturdays per month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
