Position Summary:
The Marathon El Paso Refinery in El Paso, Texas, is looking for a Maintenance Electrical Planner for the Routine Maintenance group. The Maintenance Electrical Planner will prepare electrical maintenance work packages in accordance with established processes, develop detailed work scopes, prepares cost and man-hour estimates and requisitions materials. This position will also contribute to maintenance productivity by ensuring maintenance work is planned safely, efficiently, and effectively. Also, support continuous reliability improvement and cost reduction. The Maintenance Electrical Planner will work primarily with engineering and maintenance supervisors to ensure accurate documentation of equipment history, bill of materials, and repair procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Convert approved notifications into work orders following the established work process. Plan sequential operational steps from start to finish with estimated labor hours and duration of activities. Identifies and requisitions resources, materials, and additional services. Perform onsite field assessments to validate all requirements.
Review work plan and process with appropriate personnel. Verify work instructions comply with established procedures and standards at both refinery and corporate level.
Create work order packages containing detailed instructions for craftsperson to perform work. Ensure work orders have been thoroughly planned before issuance for scheduling and contain, depending on job scope and complexity, safety plan, drawings, schematics, piping, and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), safety data sheet (SDS), Management of Change package (MOC), material list, permit requirements, preplan, etc. Ensure materials and resources are available when job is scheduled to commence.
Provide input as part of risk assessment team in his/her area concerning new work notifications. Is a direct focal point for work between operations, maintenance, engineering, and inspection on routine and preventative work. Work with operations and maintenance to manage backlog of work.
Maintain accurate information in maintenance management information systems. Update information such as, but not limited to, work order and equipment history files. Review and update spare parts lists and inventories for existing and new equipment. Create and generate reports, graphics, metrics, dashboards used by management in planning, control, and execution of maintenance activities.
Work with engineers and turnaround planning to develop plans for capital and turnaround needs where appropriate.
Consult engineering and crafts when additional troubleshooting is required.
Work with engineering to develop electrical preventative maintenance programs and/or plans, ensuring compliance with MPC and industry standards to ensure equipment integrity and availability. Identify appropriate resources including manpower and tools for the safe and effective completion of preventative maintenance activities. Reviews maintenance programs for resource loading and evaluates any hazards to adjust as necessary.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a High School Diploma or GED. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Must have at least 5 years of experience as an electrical maintenance craftsperson in a refinery, petro-chemical or similar industry.
Must be proficient with Microsoft: Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
Travel Requirement is 5% or less.
This position works Monday to Thursday 4/10 schedule
A Valid Driver's License is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Maintenance planning experience preferred.
SAP experience preferred.
