Job Title: Construction Materials TesterJob Description
The construction materials tester is responsible for performing laboratory and field testing of construction materials in accordance with project and standard specifications. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects through rigorous testing procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
Adhere to all safety procedures while conducting tests.
Maintain an acceptable driving record for transportation to various testing sites.
Report test results accurately and comprehensively.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, contractors, and other project-related parties.
Ensure testing equipment is maintained in clean and working order.
Carry out special assignments as requested.
Perform technical or related work as required.
Essential Skills
ACI Field Testing certification.
Nuclear density gauge certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with concrete, asphalt, and soil testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ACI Laboratory Technician certifications in Strength Testing and Laboratory Testing (Level 1 and Level 2).
NMDOT or TxDOT Aggregate, Soils, HMAC Certifications.
Work Environment
The role requires a candidate who is comfortable working both in the field and the lab. The position offers accommodations at either Shale Lodge or State Line cabins, with a per diem negotiable depending on the chosen facility. One facility offers three meals a day, while the other does not. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
