Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant for a fully remote, short-term contract role. The ideal candidate will support financial operations by preparing reports, analyzing accounting records, and maintaining budget accuracy. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with financial standards and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial insights.

Responsibilities:

Review and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards.

Create and manage budgets, providing detailed comparisons of projected costs versus actual expenditures.

Design, update, and maintain accounting systems and recordkeeping processes to improve efficiency and compliance.

Calculate tax obligations, prepare returns, and ensure adherence to all reporting and payment requirements.

Communicate financial insights and analyses with clients to support informed decision-making.

Monitor business trends to forecast future revenues and expenses, providing actionable recommendations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting.

Utilize accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to streamline financial reporting processes.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related financial discipline is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

2-4 years of experience in financial or accounting roles, demonstrating attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Office applications.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance standards.

Proven ability to analyze financial trends and project future outcomes.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex financial scenarios.
