HOW A WEB SERVER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
? Installation and Configuration : Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components.
? Maintenance and Upgrades : Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally.
? Monitoring and Performance Tuning :
Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
? Security Management : Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities.
?? Backup and Recovery : Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure.
? Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.
? Collaboration : Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.
? User Support : Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries.
?? Ticket-Based Support : Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.
?? Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions.
?? Automation and Scripting : Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks.
?? Compliance :
Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
Maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
? Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
? Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience, Hands-on experience with web server software such as Apache, Nginx, and IIS. Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
? Required Technical Skills:
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web security practices.
Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
? Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
? Required Skills and Abilities:
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
? Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $49.30 - $66.70. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
