Gilbane is seeking an Estimating Manager - Electrical/Special Systems for the Advanced Manufacturing, Science & Technology (AMST) Division to be responsible for all estimating needs across multiple projects or a single large complex project. AMST is a Gilbane division focused on providing superior and consistent construction management services to clients across multiple domestic and international geographies. This role may be located anywhere within the U.S.

Responsibilities
Manages and leads the Electrical and Special Systems estimating effort for multiple concurrent projects within the Division or a single large / complex project through the entire design phase of a project
Develops estimating deliverables for multiple project @types (centers of excellence) and delivery methods
Coordinates with Gilbane's national Supply Chain Management group to leverage both national and geographic specific market relationships
Prepares preliminary conceptual cost estimates and budgets on limited information while providing adequate written clarifications of the costing assumptions
Collaborates with other internal disciplines consistently including operations, accounting, VDC, purchasing, and scheduling
Coordinates often with the Preconstruction Executive, Business Unit Leader, operations team, and BD staff on all deliverables with projects ranging in size and complexity
Coordinates and executes tasks of estimating personnel assigned to a specific estimate
Assists the Preconstruction Executive and Business Unit Leader in communicating and coordinating with the entire Gilbane estimating process with Client and design team
Collaborates with other Estimating peers, within the AMST Division, as well as other Gilbane Divisions
Prepares costs for each estimating deliverable for the entire Electrical and Special Systems packages to align with contract requirements and fee enhancement opportunities.
Understands the relationship between Electrical and Special Systems, and other construction disciplines, including but not limited to: Civil, Site Utilities, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Process systems to ensure accuracy in estimating process, procedures, and review requirements
Reviews and understands all project plans, requirements, and specifications
Coordinates with estimators to develop large, multi-disciplinary estimates
Participates in the Value Management process to reduce price and increase value
Serves as a Gilbane brand ambassador with Owners, design teams, and industry partners (for example ACE mentor programs)
Manages workload and ensures alignment with overall company standards
Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
Coordinates with Preconstruction Executive and Business Unit Leader to communicate company and department strategy to direct reports
May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
8-15+ years of relevant experience estimating projects in the advanced manufacturing, laboratory, and pharmaceutical market sectors
Ability to demonstrate in depth knowledge and capacity for understanding how to estimate and provide value management/constructability feedback for the following electrical systems, including but not limited to:
High and voltage distribution and infrastructure
Generators, paralleling switchgear, and automatic transfer switches
Uninterruptable power supplies
Structural Cabling, Telecommunications, Security, A.V., and other similar low voltage systems
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to lead multiple estimates concurrently or large / complex estimates
Collaborate through On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offs
Strong collaboration skills to reconcile estimating assumptions with designers and Owners
Ability to leads the estimating process and deliverable for projects throughout the design phase
Ability to presents estimating deliverables (internally and externally) and participates in interviews during the pursuit phase
Ability to conceptually estimate projects with limited information
Ability to estimate multiple facility @types such as life sciences, mission critical, pharmaceutical, data centers, and advanced manufacturing
Ability to estimate within multiple delivery methods
Ability to maintain healthy working relationships with industry partners (Owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverables
Researches and maintains market trends (material, equipment, lead times) relating to estimating efforts
