Job Description

The Purchasing & Logistics Agent will play a crucial role in ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment, aimed at maximizing the company's profitability. This position involves direct reporting to the Director of Operations and daily interactions with various departments such as Engineering, Service, Administration, Bid & Proposal, and Sales. The ideal candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, experience in purchasing materials and equipment for industrial and municipal project applications, and proficiency in planning international shipments with freight companies. A strong understanding of HS codes, shipping documentation, and duties/tariffs is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office applications. The role requires effective vendor control and negotiation skills, with a preference for candidates having project management experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure on-schedule delivery of materials and equipment.

Maximize company profitability through effective purchasing and logistics strategies.

Interact daily with various departments including Engineering, Service, Administration, Bid & Proposal, and Sales.

Plan international shipments with freight companies, understanding HS codes, shipping documentation, and duties/tariffs.

Utilize MS Office applications proficiently.

Control and negotiate with vendors effectively.

Manage projects efficiently, with a preference for project management experience.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Purchasing.

Minimum 6+ years of experience in equipment Procurement/Purchasing.

Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics/international shipping.

Proficiency in purchasing software, including MRP and ERP systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Vendor control and negotiation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High proficiency in Excel and Word, with Adobe skills for documentation purposes.

Excellent electronic filing and documentation skills, specifically with DropBox.

Ability to obtain HAZMAT shipping certification for required goods.

Possession of a Notary Public Commission preferred.

Strong ability to multitask and manage action item lists efficiently.

Work Environment

The position is located in Voorhees, NJ. Work hours are Monday through Friday, with a start time between 8am and 9am, working eight-hour days. The role requires 100% onsite presence initially, reporting directly to the Director of Operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
