Job Summary and Qualifications
This senior-level position with the Clinical Data and Interoperability Team in the Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) department is responsible for strategy and execution of data usability initiatives, optimization of clinical decision support tools, and integrated workflow assessments, supporting the company's digital transformation agenda with primary focus on the MEDITECH Expanse platform. This is a key strategy in HCA Healthcare creating the next-generation of care delivery and operational excellence capabilities. This position is a subject matter expert for solutions that enhance healthcare outcomes and delivery.
Data usability is focused on real world consumption of data by users; including clinicians, data scientists, administrators and report writers. The ability of those users to understand their data and interact with it in meaningful and productive ways guides the process and goals of data usability. The dimensions of usability include, but are not limited to data quality, meta data availability, and semantic mapping/normalization.
This position is responsible for working with business and product owners along with other stakeholders to define requirements, perform feasibility analysis and create metrics for monitoring outcomes. This position will, at different times throughout the delivery cycle, provide leadership as well as play supporting roles in providing data usability expertise. The nature of solutions ranges from foundational data products to use case specific solutions, particularly the enterprise implementation of the MEDITECH Expanse electronic medical record.
Success in this position includes working with multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams across the enterprise. A customer service mindset and the ability to collaborate with partners from multiple and diverse backgrounds is crucial to excelling in this role.
Responsibilities
Provide deep expertise in Expanse clinical decision support capabilities
Provide clinical data usability expertise to business partners developing data products and use case-based solutions
Partner with leaders, business owners, analysts, project managers and technical solution providers across the Enterprise in the scope and design of clinical decision support
Apply healthcare knowledge to prioritize and define clinical decision support use cases to implement technical solutions that meet clinical requirements
Support product, field and leadership teams with testing and validation of deployed solutions

Experience
Experience with EHRs (MEDITECH, EPIC, Cerner), EHR build and implementation a plus
Data and workflow analysis
Hospital Health Information Management or Revenue Cycle preferred
Hospital clinical experience desirable
3-7 years relevant experience, at least 2 years clinical informatics experience preferred

Bachelor's Degree in healthcare discipline ideal; experience may substitute for education
