Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in Chicago, IL

This position is expected to begin summer 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.

Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.

Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline, and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working for a large general contractor.

Thorough knowledge of project engineering and construction project management documentation.

Experience supporting large projects and organizing documentation for construction teams.

Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook). As well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs

Additional Information

This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

This position will not provide relocation assistance.

In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $17.40/hour - $30.43/hour.
