The current vacancy is in the County Attorney's Office. The eligibility list created by this vacancy may be used to hire other vacancies in the department.
The role of the County Attorney's Office Supervisor - Child Support is to supervise the Child Support unit by organizing, assigning, and evaluating program functions and workflow, operations, and services; coordinate with other divisions, county departments and outside agencies; and supervising staff as well establish and evaluation of division policies and procedures and administrate business functions in those areas; and to perform related duties as assigned.

Flexible Workplace
This position is identified under the designation of 'flex work eligible', meaning that the employee can formally opt to be in-office full-time or work a flex schedule in which at least two-days per week are performed in office and other days can be performed in a remote-first environment. Examples of Work Performed
Organize and direct the day-to-day operations of a specific Child Support Services Division unit in the areas of paternity adjudication, order establishment/modification, collection of child support, support enforcement, or public assistance recovery.
Act as a liaison with Ramsey County Community Human Services, the courts, and other agencies to coordinate case management, establish operating procedures and ensure effective processing of cases; confer with attorneys, staff, supervisors from other units and outside agencies on methods for resolving problematic cases; and participate in statewide organizations to develop new procedures and to influence public policy.
Promote a diverse, culturally competent, and respectful workplace.
Plan, schedule and assign work to unit staff including professional, paraprofessional, and clerical employees; review the work of unit staff by auditing caseloads on a regular basis to ensure adherence to pertinent regulations and to determine if case processing methods can be improved; and advise and direct staff on handling difficult cases and interpreting or applying unit policies and procedures.
Select individuals to fill unit job vacancies, with the division director's approval; provide orientation and training to new employees; determine and provide for ongoing training needs of unit staff; conduct performance appraisals on a formal and informal basis; and address employee performance issues as required.
Analyze and evaluate existing unit objectives, goals, standards, priorities, policies, and procedures; assist in formulating, developing, and implementing new or revised objectives, goals, standards, priorities, policies, and procedures when necessary; and ensure proper implementation and conformance with legislative requirements.
Participate in the establishment, evaluation, and revision of divisional policies, procedures, and short and long-range plans to promote operational efficiency and remain in compliance with changing legislation; and compile statistics and analyze unit data to monitor trends relating to program performance, services, resource availability and staffing needs.
Act as a liaison with Ramsey County Community Human Services, the courts, and other agencies to coordinate case management, establish operating procedures and ensure effective processing of cases; confer with attorneys, staff, supervisors from other unites and outside the agencies on methods for resolving problematic cases; and participate in statewide organizations to develop new procedures and to influence public policy
Respond to public complaints regarding office policies or employees; interview clients or crime victims when necessary to resolve disputes; respond to public requests for information or assistance regarding programs, policies, and procedures; and address community groups and participate in training seminars. Assist in writing grant proposals to enhance the Division's services.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Six years of experience as a Support Enforcement Agent, Victim/Witness Advocate or other equivalent and relevant.
Substitutions: Equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Exam/Screening Process Information
The examination process will consist of the following section with each section weighted as indicated:
Training and Experience Rating = 100%
The examination for County Attorney's Office Supervisor - Child Support will consist of a training and experience rating, comprised of the questions in the attached supplemental questionnaire. Not all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will pass the training and experience rating. The rating on this supplemental questionnaire will depend on your answers to the questions - do not mark "see resume" or "see work history" as a response. Please answer all your questions clearly and completely. Failure to respond could affect your score and final rank on this examination.
Eligible List: The names of all applicants who have submitted a completed application and passed the examination/screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for an employment opportunity as a County Attorney's Office Supervisor - Child Support. This list will be certified to the appointing authority which may use this list to conduct interviews to fill a vacancy. Applicants will remain on the list for 30 days or until hired, whichever occurs first. A notice will be sent to applicants at the time the eligible list is posted.
Veteran's Preference: This is a classified position requiring an open, competitive selection process. Veteran's Preference points will be applied after a candidate passes the examination process. Applicants who are eligible for veteran's preference should update their veteran's DD214, and other supporting documents, and submit them as an attachment at the time of application.

This means that Ramsey County will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
