Description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team for a 6-8 week contract in Toledo, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposit processing. As part of a non-profit organization, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Responsibilities:

Process daily deposits efficiently and accurately, dedicating approximately two hours per day to preparation.

Handle accounts payable functions, including reviewing and entering invoices into the system.

Prepare invoices with corresponding checks for approval and follow established procedures for disbursement.

Ensure proper filing of financial documents to meet audit requirements and maintain organized records.

Manage the processing of approximately 75 checks per week, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to complete daily tasks and maintain financial data.

Collaborate with couriers and other external parties to ensure timely deposit handling.

Perform routine filing tasks after checks are issued to maintain a smooth workflow.

Adapt to a repetitive yet structured work environment to achieve consistent results.

Assist with additional financial tasks as needed within the accounting system.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposit processing.

Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and financial reporting.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure audit-ready documentation.

Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.

Excellent time management skills to handle high volumes of checks and deposits.

Previous experience in a non-profit or similar environment is a plus.

Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
