Accountant

Monday - Friday, 8A - 5P

Looking for a great accounting job with a company that does things the right way? Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to support their financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accuracy in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and precise monthly closeouts, and collaborating with senior management to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making. Candidates must have accounting experience in the construction industry that includes job costing, project accounting & WIP reporting. Competitive compensation and benefit package.

Responsibilities will include:

Oversee financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Monitor project costs and budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.

Oversee invoices and collections to maintain cash flow.

Handle subcontractor payments and ensure compliance with subcontractor requirements.

Prepare monthly financial reports for management.

Assist with tax regulations, industry standards, and internal financial policies.

Oversee one direct report

Requirements:

Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting

5 years of accounting experience that includes 3 years in construction accounting.

Experience with job costing, project accounting, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Knowledge of tax compliance, contractor excise tax, and subcontractor requirements.

MUST BE proficient in one of these accounting software (SAGE 300 CRE, Foundation, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Advanced Excel skills are required; working with macros, queries and charts.

Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and subcontractor payments.

Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Stronger personality able to work with all @types; good with pressure of meeting deadlines.
