Job Summary
This field oversight role is responsible for contract and specification compliance of transmission and substation construction projects to include monitoring contractor performance, material receipts, and coordinating construction activities. Inspects and monitors contractor work for compliance with Dominion Energy's Safety requirements, Contract documents, Policies, and Procedures (quality, safety, schedule, specifications and environmental). Maintains schedule and reports to management on project status including weekly Progress Reporting. Coordinates and communicates with internal and external partners regarding major construction and maintenance projects. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and acts as the interface with appropriate agencies. Works with other Dominion Energy teams to resolve disputes and maintain a positive relationship with property owners, business owners, and the public. Assist Project Manager to identify transmission line outages, headways, durations, and clearance zones. Communicates with SOC for switching and receiving transmission line clearances. The construction coordinator will be involved in Electric Transmission Capital Projects in multiple regions that support Underground Transmission Construction. This position will report to Superintendent, Central & Western Region.
Additional duties:
Attends and executes safety meetings and ensures safety is the top priority on all construction projects.
Understands, recognizes, any recommends corrections on potential environmental issues before they occur
Solid understanding of engineering specifications and the application of specs to the projects.
Exercises positive communication with internal and external partners regarding construction projects.
Understands and executes current construction processes and procedures.
Works with Superintendent and/or Construction Consultant to ensure Time & Material, Lump sum, and Firm Fixed Price contracts are properly applied to construction projects.Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Significant directly related experience (electric transmission line and/or electric transmission heavy construction): 10+ years with HS/GED; or 8+ years with related associate degree; or 7+ years with related Bachelor's degree *Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications
Full knowledge of construction, operations, and maintenance of transmission lines; switching, tagging, grounding and concrete construction
Basic knowledge of contract administration to include Time & Material, Lump sum, and Firm Fixed Price contracts as it applies to construction projects.
Ability and willingness to travel and be in the field extensively
Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Basic knowledge of computer programs
Ability and willingness to work 40+ hour work weeks

Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate. Other Education: Environmental Science, Building & Construction, Construction Management, Procurement, Business Administration
Associated certifications preferred: State and Federal Certifications for Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Responsible Land Disturber, Construction or Project Management, Procurement
Disciplines Preferred: Construction Management; Engineering Technology; Project Management;
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Responsible Land Disturbance (RLD) Testing Required
Valid Driver license (This position will require that you operate a Dominion Energy vehicle or operate a vehicle on behalf of Dominion Energy)
