Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Cary, Illinois. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing and managing cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting and support decision-making processes. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multiple departments, making a meaningful impact on the organization's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Monitor and reconcile inventory discrepancies, ensuring proper valuation and accuracy.

Conduct in-depth variance analysis, including material, price, and absorption variances.

Review and analyze material usage to identify trends and areas for cost optimization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain accurate overhead rates.

Prepare and present detailed inventory analyses for management review.

Assist in capitalized variance calculations and provide insights to improve cost controls.

Support the implementation and management of accounting systems and ERP tools.

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.

Provide actionable recommendations to improve cost efficiency and overall profitability.

Salary: 80,000-100,000

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and cost accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced data analysis skills.

Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with various departments.

Familiarity with Great Plains or similar accounting software is a plus.

Experience with inventory reconciliation and variance analysis.

Knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
