JOB SPECIFICATION:
Title: Security Operations Manager
Reports To: Global Account Manager
Environment: Pharmaceutical Client
Location: Cambridge, MA (Free parking)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (7am-3pm) with flexibility nights / weekends as required.
Salary: $88,000/year
JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the daily security service operations provided to assigned Cambridge site(s) including client service and problem resolution, service enhancement, operational effectiveness, development and preparation of post orders, staffing, scheduling, and training, disciplining and terminating staff. Build, improve and maintain relationships with employees: develop & retain staff; coordinate needed support services and solve problems to effectively run the account. Provides quality customer service. Provides 24/7 emergency response as required. Does not perform Security Officer duties except on a limited, relief or emergency basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages Security Officers Analysts and Shift Supervisors, to ensure all personnel deliver a high-quality service and initiates any necessary corrective action in a timely manner.
Train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline site security personnel
Support of development and maintenance of operations & training performance metrics
Conducting interviews and evaluating new employees.
Oversees all reports, logs and pass downs generated by and for the Security Department. Distributes communications and other information to Security Professionals at post as directed
OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The employee might not be required to perform all functions listed. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business necessity and/or client needs or requests.
In the Global Account Manager's absence, the Operations Manager may assume managerial and operational responsibility for the Cambridge site security program.
Motivates and provides leadership to all site security personnel to foster a teamwork focused environment.
Ensures that adequate shift logs and reports are filed; notifies proper authorities, client, and Global Account Manager in emergency situations.
Supports the operations of site GSOC equipment in accordance with established protocol as outlined and set forth by the manufacturer, and in accordance with client security procedures
Maintains proficiency in the operation of all software programs used in the site(s) GSOC operation.
Performs all duties in accordance with the Securitas and client security procedures.
Ensures up-to-date of daily activity log, which includes, but is not limited to any requests for service, security breaches, emergencies, access events, etc.
Reports any faulty equipment and/or health and safety hazards immediately to site security management for follow up actions.
Reports any conditions or events deserving the attention of security to the Account Manager/Client
Ensures assistance of callers in emergency situations and dispatches emergency response from outside agencies as required. Acts as an information resource and facilitates communications for emergency situations.
Ensures supports of all requests for assistance by any caller with respect and patience to maintain a standard of excellence for both internal and external customer service
Supports all systems and information and protocols for the site GSOC and the client remains completely confidential as required by Securitas Security and client rules and regulations.
Ensures excellent customer service via phone and email by all site security personnel
Leading or assisting with security investigations as required/completing incident reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Good working knowledge of security operations with 3 years of security experience, in a managerial capacity. Excellent customer service and competency in dealing with senior executives, visitors, employees, law enforcement, federal or local agencies, inspectors or emergency responders. Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to deal with all levels of personnel, and the general public, in a professional and effective manner. Ability to handle both common and crisis situations both calmly and efficiently
Demonstrate compliance with federal, state and local laws governing residency or registry for employment eligibility. Be at least Twenty-one (21) years of age. Possess a bachelor's degree (Preferably in Criminal Justice or Securities Studies). Demonstrate the ability to read and write English equivalent to a high school graduate. Can verbally communicate in English, particularly in emergency situations requiring clear and definitive articulation to assure confidence, control and safety of those involved.

Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
Knowledge an understanding of Access Management Systems including Software House, CCure 9000, Exacqvision, Everbridge Mass Communication, etc.
Professional level knowledge of physical security.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new procedures and tasks proficiently.
Understanding of security operations.
Must have familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment, with demonstrable skills in word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail, and Internet functionality. MS office experience is required (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
Good organizational skills.

Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
Ability to maintain professional composure under stressful circumstances.

May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
