Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Logistics Lead in Novi, MI.

Duties: Functions as main customer contact for Logistics network design activities. Lead, coach, mentor 3-4 engineers to develop innovative solutions. Responsible for one additional resource located in Mexico. Facilitate performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to aid development of individuals. Responsible for developing, implementing and validating cost savings initiatives. Establish, implement and measure key performance indicators using advanced data management and business intelligence tools. Project Management and Solution Development. Develops the solution proposal and assists in the presentation and selling of the transaction. Identifies, presents and participates in the testing of tools and techniques that enhance the competency of the organization. Identify gaps in processes and recommend/implement improvement. Benchmark internal processes to ensure best practices are presented to customers. Designs and implements transportation routes for the supplier base across USMCA. Supports routing requirements for rest of the world (non USMCA) suppliers. Creates shipment plans in collaboration with the supplier base and the transportation service providers. Occasionally tender shipments to multiple providers, ensuring the optimal cost and service levels are met. Utilizes advanced optimization software to reduce costs across the transportation network. Elaborates reports for finance department including both forecast and accruals and supports identifying variances. Elaborate business cases for supplier sourcing decisions (Total cost and cost per piece). Telecommuting is permitted.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, Industrial Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience Requires 5 years of experience with: Working in the Automotive Industry (OEM or Tier1 suppliers). Activities related to the transportation of parts and materials. Managerial experience. Coach, develop, and train other team members. Requires 4 years of experience with: Elaborating business cases and presenting to senior leadership. Requires 3 years of experience with: Customer facing roles. Requires 2 years of experience with: Advanced business intelligence and data analytics tools such as PowerBi, Tableau or Qlik Sense. Advanced modeling software such as Supply Chain Guru (Coupa), BlueYonder or similar. Lean methodologies (Continuous Improvement Tools and procedures). Elaborating financial reports (End of the month reporting, cost per unit/piece, cost variances). Transportation management systems (Procurement, planning and reporting).
