Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will oversee key accounting functions while mentoring a small team and ensuring accuracy in financial operations. This position is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and mentor a team of two, providing guidance on daily tasks and fostering growth in a detail-oriented manner.

Review and approve deposits, time entries, vacation requests, and overall work performance.

Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting cycle.

Utilize accounting software and tools, such as Excel, to analyze and manage financial data.

Address performance issues constructively, fostering a supportive team environment.

Ensure all financial processes align with organizational policies and standards.

Collaborate with team members to streamline and improve accounting operations.

Conduct periodic audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Requirements - A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in accounting software systems; experience with Oracle is a plus.

Strong Excel skills, including familiarity with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, including supervising and mentoring team members.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Experience with cash management, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address and resolve performance issues.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
