Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Los Angeles, California. This role involves overseeing accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Blackbaud Financial Edge and a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices efficiently using the Financial Edge Accounts Payable module, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational policies.

Verify and code expenses correctly in alignment with the chart of accounts and funding restrictions.

Match invoices to purchase orders or contracts as required for proper documentation.

Reconcile the accounts payable subledger and assist with month-end and quarter-end closing activities.

Set up and maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms and payment terms, to ensure accuracy.

Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including checks and electronic payments.

Monitor and respond to inquiries in the accounts payable inbox promptly and professionally.

Assist in generating accounts payable aging reports and preparing audit schedules as needed.

Ensure compliance with approval workflows and internal financial policies.

Collaborate with team members across departments to resolve discrepancies and clarify expense coding. Requirements - Proven experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge, particularly in the Accounts Payable module.

Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices and internal controls.

Proficiency in invoice processing, coding, and data entry.

Familiarity with preparing check runs and electronic payments.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent communication abilities for clear and effective interactions with vendors and staff.
