Amentum is seeking an experienced Area Program Manager to lead our team of highly skilled regional and site managers, as well as their multi-craft technicians across the US.
The Area Program Manager reports to the Amentum Director of Operations and works to develop and maintain close working relationships with site clients, project managers and business leaders/stakeholders throughout the organization.
This position ensures that established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business and has total responsibility for managing all aspects of the Facility Maintenance portfolio within the US.
This includes preserving the safety and well-being of our employees, safeguarding company funds and property, and representing the company with respect to the client.
This position is responsible for the overall Integrated Facility Management program across the client's portfolio which includes thirteen (13) facilities across nine (9) states.
Essential Functions
Working under the supervision of the Sr. Director, demonstrates and provides portfolio leadership in their area of responsibility.

Performs annual employee assessment and performance review.

Operational Excellence:
Manages all aspects of portfolio with client.
Establishes an organizational structure that ensure the most efficient utilization of resources while fulfilling the contractual requirements
Understands critical nature of client's work environment including particulars of production facility.
Identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
Oversee the performance of preventative, and predictive maintenance programs.
Drives portfolio continuous improvement, set goals and objectives, and meets schedule commitments.
Manages performance and progress against the plan and ensures accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.
Track and report status against key performance indicators or contractual metrics on a routine basis. Implements corrective measures when measures are outside service levels or bandwidths.
Works with Business Development to increase scope of services on existing contracts.
Supports BD and Group management in Contract negotiations with customers.
Cost:
Tracks and manages annual operating budgets in cooperation with customer, business manager or group financial department.
Tracks and manages portfolio budget with labor, materials, and subcontract costs identified by month for project.
Controls costs by managing the performance of the site Project Managers.
Identifies and implements cost savings initiatives in all areas of the portfolio.
Maintain or exceed plan revenue and EBIT
Requirements :
10+ years of progressive career experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, research & development facility maintenance, engineering or related fields.
Working knowledge of purchasing and/or utilizing and managing subcontracts or vendors.
Staff management experience, including disciplinary action, hiring, terminating, and performance appraisals.
Willing to travel within the US and Internationally.
Additional Information:
Travel is estimated at 25%.

Physical Requirements :
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Preferred:
Ability to proactively identify potential problems or opportunities, analyze issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives and arrive at the optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
Experience with engineering controls related to facility maintenance services. Experience in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Power Point and Visio.
Experience with typical Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Shows strong technical background and understanding of technical knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to prioritize, assign, track and trend equipment history.
Managing through the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Knowledge of reliability maintenance Predictive maintenance experience, including areas such as IR scanning, ultrasonic, vibration and oil analysis, testing, life cycle studies, incident reports, root cause analysis and/or additional data gathering programs.
Experience developing and managing a budget. Experience in contract negotiation.
Experience in new business start-ups.
