Job Description
AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Interior Designer for immediate employment in our New York, NY office. AECOM's Buildings + Places business line is dedicated to design excellence and integrated project delivery solutions with expertise including architecture, interiors, engineering, development, workplace strategy, economic planning, master planning, project management, and construction services. Our B+P New York studio provides industry-leading design projects in corporate interiors, government, and higher education markets.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Provide thought leadership, creative visioning, client engagement, design thinking, and mentor and coach staff for growth
Lead all stages of the design process including visioning, programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
Assist management of quality control and team performance for interiors projects
Manage existing client relationships and develop new project opportunities
Provide consistent and timely communication of project information with clients and the project team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Architecture or Interior Design and 6 years of related interior design experience in commercial and government interior construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
Licenses, and/or certifications required: National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB), and/or National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ)
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of related interior design experience in commercial interior construction projects preferred
Demonstrated experience in working with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, telecom, fire protection
Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suites software (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project @types including workplace, collaborative, and learning environments
Demonstrated experience in space planning, building codes, and ADA requirements
Working knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market including manufacturers and dealers, and experience documenting FF&E specifications
Experience in maintaining fiscal accountability of projects
Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures
Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills fostering a positive work environment
Self-starter, leader, ability to manage and mentor multiple project teams on complex projects

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $115,000.00 - $150,000.00.
