Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team at a [small/midsized] company dedicated to delivering exceptional service in [industry/sector]. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

Review, verify, and process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and alignment with purchase orders.

Assist with check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments while maintaining proper documentation.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

Generate and distribute customer invoices; post incoming payments to the appropriate accounts.

Follow up on outstanding customer balances through timely and professional communication.

Reconciliation & Reporting:

Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts, and vendor statements.

Provide support for month-end closing, including journal entry preparation.

Recordkeeping:

Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including filing of invoices, receipts, and other documentation for audits or reviews.

Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

General Support:

Assist the accounting team in responding to internal and external financial inquiries.

Support ad hoc financial projects and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

1-3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within a small to midsized business environment.

Skills & Competencies:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or a similar platform) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing data entry and financial calculations.

Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy office environment.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills for vendor and customer interactions.
