Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting a Senior Accountant to support our large publicly traded client on a 2+ month on-site engagement based primarily in the South Bay area. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will primarily provide support in accounting and financial reporting activities (including monthly/quarterly/annual closes and SOX audits)

Responsibilities:

Lead month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion within a five-business-day timeframe.

Prepare journal entries and accruals, including incentive accruals, to support various stakeholders.

Develop and maintain account reconciliations, schedules, and financial analyses using Excel and SAP.

Assist in compliance and audit activities for the automotive segment, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Evaluate and enhance current reporting processes to improve accuracy and identify automation opportunities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and address process improvement needs.

Monitor and ensure the integrity of financial data across systems and reports.

Provide detailed financial documentation and analysis to support audits and compliance efforts.

Stay informed on industry best practices and trends to implement innovative solutions in accounting processes.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting experience in a large, publicly traded company.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as Power Query.

Strong experience with SAP, particularly in accounting and financial reporting.

Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed account reconciliations and journal entries.

Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements within the automotive industry.

Proven track record of implementing process automation and improvement initiatives.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
