Description We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Long Beach, California. This Contract to permanent position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of an educational institution while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, issue, and track invoices for students, departments, and third-party partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Monitor and record incoming payments through various channels, reconciling transactions in compliance with institutional financial policies.

Address student inquiries related to tuition, fees, and payment policies, providing clear and precise communication.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, preparing financial reports and resolving discrepancies as needed.

Assist in reconciling accounts receivable records with general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Collaborate with finance teams, student services, and academic departments to streamline processes and resolve financial issues.

Generate aging reports and escalate overdue accounts to support effective collections.

Support audits by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to financial policies.

Contribute to process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy in accounts receivable operations. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, with a preference for experience in the education or university sector.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities for interacting with students, parents, and internal teams.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Solid understanding of general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting principles.

Familiarity with higher education regulations, including Title IV compliance and other relevant policies, is a plus.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Analytical thinking skills for resolving account discrepancies and creating financial reports.
