In this role you will have the opportunity to define multi-year science strategies to support a wide range of problems in Operations, Supply Chain. and Manufacturing. You will lead the application and production of a wide range of models (statistical models, computer vision, GenAI) for Global Robotics Delivery in a fast-paced operations environment. This people leader will own forecasts and analytics for supply chain and manufacturing problems, and will develop optimization and forecasting expertise across the Global Robotics Delivery portfolio, and methodically expand the team's domain expertise over a wide range of science areas. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building scalable self-service analytics and science infrastructure and can lead a team to productize ML solutions, including managing infrastructure as code and developing MLOps. The right candidate will have experience building teams and growing individuals.
In this role you will work in an ambiguous environment where you have the opportunity to influence organizational strategy, and develop and lead execution strategy for scientific solutions. You will define a path of research and execution.
This Data Science Manager (DSM) will lead a cross functional team of BIEs, DSs, and DEs to investigate and develop strategies and concepts to frame a solution set and enable detailed scientific solution design. You bring strong problem-solving capabilities to isolate, define, resolve complex problems, and implement effective solutions. The right candidate for this DSM role must be technically competent and build cross-functional support within the organizations, and with customers. A successful DSM candidate will be able to assess a business problem, define baseline metrics, and support an iterative scientific solution paths that balance delivering results for operations customers, while maintaining focus on long-run science roadmaps.
This candidate is expected to understand science methodologies for a wide range of data @types; text, images, and numerical. You will bring enough subject matter expertise to ensure that data collected as part of supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment center (FC) deployment, and FC operations is properly captured, structured, and stored. You are able to communicate all steps of the scientific process to the technical team and to the business stakeholders. A successful candidate understands challenges in the manufacturing and supply chain for all relevant robotics products, and can intuitively map the challenges to data driven solutions. In this role you will contribute to complex High-Level-Designs spanning Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams, and have the technical knowledge to provide feedback on Low-Level-Designs. You will apply knowledge from other disciplines and create solutions to proactively improve operations yield, detect supplier quality issues, calibrate test equipment, and detect anomalies at sub-assembly level. You will tackle intrinsically hard problems with minimal support, write effectively, document the approach, assumptions, and accuracy of the proposed models. An effective candidate is able to understand how to deploy science models into service based application frameworks and seeks opportunities to embed science models in to new and existing products.
Key job responsibilities
