In this position...
We're looking for a talented and experienced Product Manager to take ownership of one of the most critical pieces of our global e-commerce platform: the main site navigation header. Think of this as the digital front door and the primary guide for millions of users worldwide as they explore our vast catalog.
This isn't just about links; it's about user experience, discoverability, brand representation, and ultimately, driving conversion and engagement across diverse markets and devices. You'll be the strategic owner for this foundational element, ensuring it's intuitive, performant, globally relevant, and constantly optimized.
Although this is a fully remote role, we prefer candidates who can work hybrid in our Dearborn, MI location. The ability to work eastern standard hours is required for all candidates.
Onsite work of up to three days per week may be required for candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location.
What you'll do...
Own the Vision & Strategy: Define the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for our global site navigation. This includes considering future trends, new technologies, and evolving user behaviors across different regions.
Be the User's Advocate: Deeply understand how users interact with our navigation today and identify pain points through user research, usability testing, and analyzing feedback. Champion improvements that make finding products effortless.
Drive with Data: Analyze key metrics related to navigation performance - think click-through rates, search usage originating from the nav, bounce rates on category pages, time to find products, and conversion impact. Use A/B testing and data insights to inform every decision.
Define Requirements: Translate user needs, business goals, and data insights into clear, concise product requirements and specifications for our design and engineering teams.
Collaborate Globally: Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including UX/UI Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Marketing, Merchandising, Content teams, and crucially, our regional and international teams. Ensure the navigation meets global needs while allowing for necessary localization.
Prioritize and Plan: Manage the product backlog for the navigation area, ruthlessly prioritizing initiatives based on impact, effort, and alignment with overall company goals.
Stay Informed: Keep a pulse on competitive landscape and best practices in e-commerce navigation, globally. What are other leading sites doing well? What can we learn?
Communicate Effectively: Clearly articulate the navigation strategy, roadmap, progress, and results to stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
Iterate and Optimize: Plan and execute experiments (A/B tests) to continuously improve navigation design, structure, and functionality.
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
3+ years of Product Management experience specifically within an e-commerce environment. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities of online retail.
2+ years of experience of successfully launching and iterating on user-facing features that delivered measurable business results in an e-commerce @context.
2 + years of experience working on large-scale websites or applications with a significant user base.
2+ years of experience with A/B testing methodologies is essential with strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform decisions.
Even better, you may have...
Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Design or similar.
Experience working on products with a global scope, understanding the complexities of localization, cultural nuances, and international team collaboration.
Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, particularly as they apply to website navigation and information architecture. You can effectively collaborate with designers.
Direct experience managing site navigation, global headers, or other core site infrastructure components on a large e-commerce platform.
