Medical Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Collections Specialist to join our team in Holyoke, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will focus on managing collections related to self-pay patients and attorneys, ensuring accurate record-keeping and clear communication. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and customer service.

Responsibilities:

Negotiate and establish payment plans with patients and attorneys, adhering to company policies and legal guidelines.

Maintain detailed documentation of all communications and payment arrangements within Excel and other tracking systems.

Analyze account histories to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly by collaborating with relevant internal teams.

Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to outstanding balances.

Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive financial and personal data during all interactions.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to create, update, and organize spreadsheets for efficient tracking of collections and payments.

Follow up regularly on overdue accounts to ensure timely resolution and payment.

Stay informed about industry regulations and company procedures to ensure compliance at all times. Requirements - Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, attorneys, and team members.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining organized spreadsheets.

Excellent organizational skills with an acute attention to detail to manage multiple accounts.

Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with professionalism and discretion.

Prior experience in medical collections, accounts receivable, or billing is preferred.

Knowledge of collection processes and customer service best practices.

Familiarity with medical collections systems and practices is a plus.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
