Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our Metal Cutting & Turning Operations team. As part of our fully employee-owned organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the global power infrastructure by producing essential equipment that safeguards the reliability of the electrical grid. You will be responsible for maintaining efficient production by setting up and operating a range of CNC equipment, including turning machines and both vertical and horizontal machining centers.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.

Organize, prioritize, and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed, changing environment.

Utilize shop math effectively.

Proficiently use measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

Understand metal-cutting applications and machine practices.

Handle piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs.

Deburr and clean parts using various hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press.

Inspect parts visually and using various measurement tools such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

Essential Skills

6+ years of CNC machining experience.

2+ years of CNC setup experience using Fanuc controls.

Experience with one of the following machines: Mazak, Okuma, Haas.

Experience with mill and/or lathe operations.

Proficiency in reading blueprints.

Skilled in using precision measuring tools: micrometers and calipers.

High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

CNC vocational schooling.

GD&T experience.

Experience with both lathe and mill CNC machines.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new, climate-controlled facility in Palatine. The environment is fast-paced and has occasional overtime of 5-10 hours on average, including some Saturdays. Enjoy the use of advanced CNC technologies in a state-of-the-art setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.
