Job Summary:\
The Locomotive Custodian Keeps the building in clean and orderly
condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors,
restrooms, and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include,
performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of the
need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from the sidewalk
Responsibilities
Fully understand and support Xanterra\'s Mission Statement, Cultural
Pillars, Community Commitment, and Core Values.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or
other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power
equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures, self and other
employees.
Reads and understands SDS sheets and follows instructions in use of
all chemicals and cleaning agents.
Practice Risk Management procedures, including morning stretches, to
ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety problems
immediately.
Wear required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as
locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical
appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by
using hand trucks.
Clear debris from the grounds.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions
to building operating systems.
Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using
snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow-melting
chemicals.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and
maintenance duties.
Adhere to all prescribed Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
policies and corporate commitments to maintain ISO 14001 goals and
guidelines.
Must stay current on Hazardous Material Transportation Certification
classes to receive fuel at the Shop.
This position will fill in as a Tool Room Attendant as needed,
receive fuel, and recycle aerosol cans per BMP.
Other duties as assigned.
