We are excited to welcome you to District 5-0 as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, where you will be essential in supervising an inspection team in the field as an assistant to the assistant district materials manager. You will perform a variety of technical duties in the inspection of materials produced at asphalt, concrete, and aggregate plants to ensure materials are in accordance with specifications, contract documents and approved quality control plans. In this role, you will supervise Transportation Construction Inspectors responsible for evaluating materials and workmanship on road and bridge construction projects. Your duties will include supervising all aspects of inspecting, sampling, testing, and managing materials such as asphalt, concrete, portland cement concrete, aggregates, anti-skid, salt, and liquid asphalt used in construction and maintenance. You will also be tasked with documenting inspection and testing procedures and their outcomes. Additionally, you will investigate any rejected materials and significant quality assurance deviations, preparing reports and action plans to address these issues. This position requires you to exercise independent judgment to make technical decisions on-site.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability. This position may require overtime and travel. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, ad-hoc, after successful completion of the probationary period and training program. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Condition of Employment: This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
