Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The primary role of a Warehouse Worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Responsibilities

Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using computer systems.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Essential Skills

Verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Team player and detail-oriented.

Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

5-7 years of experience in similar roles such as Material Handler.

Proficiency in inventory management, packing, picking, and material handling.

Experience with pallet jacks, order picking, shipping and receiving, and forklift operation.

Work Environment

This role requires working weekends from 9 am to 7 pm and Mondays from 11 am to 9 pm. The work environment involves handling various warehouse equipment and adhering to safety regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.89 - $20.89/hr.
